"This world is run by six self-sustaining cities, shut off from each other and the rest of the world. These cities operate in isolation as they race to be the first to discover the secrets of the ocean in the sky. Some of the cities build long towers and skyward bridges while others research and worship this Sky Sea. They want to understand it’s existence but primarily they yearn to discover why no one ever returns from the great ocean above. With all of the economic focus on the Sky Sea, the cityfolk lived in poverty. Frustrated by the city's obsession with the Sky Sea, many people fled to the wild world outside of the city limits. Tencha Town was formed by these people to be a town focused on the quality of life of its townsfolk. A town uninterested in the mysteries above. However, the doubt inched its way into the minds of the people. Slowly, over many years, a tower began development as a pathway to the water. It was like a great hypnosis washed over the townsfolk as they worked hard on building the tower, believing more and more in the Sky Sea as an afterlife. As the tower grew taller, a resistance formed to remind the people of the prisons that they originally sought to escape from. But it was useless. This group decided that the only way to save the town was to destroy it. They scared as many as they could away from the town and collapsed the tower... After much time passed, Shincha city was built on the ruins of the tower and the town to serve as a permanent reminder of the temptation the people wished to leave behind."
